EXECUTIVE BOARD
April Willmott is our Executive Director. April has over 30 years of experience in early childhood education. She founded Kinder Works in 1985. April began as a Teacher, and became Coordinator of Education and the Deputy Director with Head Start of the Lehigh Valley and then of Title XX in Philadelphia. She participated in and later directed various Federal, State and University grants to conduct educational research, to develop demonstration programs, and to create Teacher-training models. April has designed and developed 44 early childhood programs in three states, and is a consultant to both the public and private sectors. April’s BS and MS degrees are from the Barnard College and Columbia University. She is also trained in the Montessori Method.
Debbie Schmidt is our Deputy Director. Debbie joined Kinder Works in 1986 as a Teacher. She became the Director of our New Hope School in 1992 and became Director of our Doylestown school in 1993. She became the Deputy Director and began supervising our schools in 2002. Debbie has her BS in Early Childhood Education from Lock Haven University and her graduate work was done at Temple University. She is certified by the Department of Education in Early Childhood Education.
Colleen Carricarte has been Director of Kinder Works in New Hope since 2005. She came to Kinder Works in 2001 with several years’ experience as a Teacher for a College Preschool program and a private nursery school. Colleen completed coursework at Brookdale Community College in their Early Childhood Education Program.
